The non-fiction book group at Five Leaves Bookshop discusses Hannah Arendt's analysis of the conditions that led to the Nazi and Soviet totalitarian regimes, exploring propaganda, scapegoats, terror and political isolation. A member of staff, a group regular or a guest with a special interest gives a short introduction, followed by an informal group discussion with no author or presentation. No expertise is required; participants are asked to read the book in advance. Refreshments are provided.
