Samhain - A Journey to the Underworld

A Samhain ceremony at Hastings Museum with ancestral remembrance, a Mugwort dream potion ritual and a hypnotic sound journey of drum, gong and bowls.

A Samhain ceremony in the Durbar Hall of Hastings Museum led by sound therapist Maria Christofi of The Sound Apothecary. The evening opens with a toast of a Mugwort and sideritis herbal infusion, an introduction to Samhain's history and folklore, and placement of offerings on an ancestors' altar, followed by a somatic meditation and a sound journey with drum, sun gong, crystal bowls and monochord. Attendees may bring a photo or symbolic object for the altar and an offering to be charged with intention; the ritual runs 90 minutes.
