Magic Carpet
About
Sensory play sessions for little ones and their adults use songs, rhyme, movement, play and object handling to explore a different museum theme each month.
Each monthly session introduces a museum topic through song, rhyme, movement, play and handling objects. Learning Communicators can suggest galleries to explore afterwards. Sessions take place in a secure Event Space on Level 2; meet the leaders in Hawthornden Court and they will direct you. Children may stand, move or sleep during the relaxed session. Adults are responsible for children throughout; the published maximum is two children per adult and two adults per child, with up to 12 children per session. Milk or water is welcome on the carpet; other snacks are not. The museum welcomes breastfeeding. Published dates each offer sessions at 10:30–11:15 and 11:45–12:30. Tickets are from £4 per session.
