Scaffold Board Shelving
About
A half-day woodworking workshop at Glasgow Wood where participants build their own shelving from reclaimed scaffold boards.
In this hands-on session at Glasgow Wood's South Street workshop, participants choose how many shelves to make from a 3.9m reclaimed scaffold board, decide on the lengths, and can learn how to keep the iconic scaffold board end bands. A Glasgow Wood woodworker demonstrates each step from cutting and assembling to finishing, and attendees take home a piece made entirely by themselves. The session begins with a welcome and introduction to the workshop space, which sits in the Barclay Curle Complex alongside one of Glasgow's four remaining Titan Cranes.
