Begin Your Novel
About
A three-hour practical workshop for aspiring novelists, led by author Eleanor Wasserberg, covering premise, character and writing a first page.
This relaxed three-hour workshop is aimed at people who want to write a novel but haven't started, or have stalled. Participants work on turning a vague idea into a clear starting point — a premise, a character with something at stake and an opening image — and learn how novels get written, from planning without over-planning to coping with a messy first draft. Everyone writes the first page of their novel and shares it for encouraging feedback, leaving with a take-home workbook. The session is for aspiring and first-time novelists, returning writers and anyone held back by self-doubt, with all genres welcome.
