BBC SSO 2026/27: Beethoven’s Choral Symphony with Hallé Choir

The BBC SSO under Delyana Lazarova performs Unsuk Chin and Beethoven's Ninth Symphony with the Hallé Choir and four soloists at City Halls.

The BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra closes its programme with Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, the 'Choral', whose setting of Schiller's Ode to Joy crowns the work, performed without interval. Conductor Delyana Lazarova leads four vocal soloists and the massed voices of Manchester's Hallé Choir. The concert opens with Unsuk Chin's Subito Con Forza, described as an explosive homage to Beethoven.
