My Wife Cries
About
The ICA screens Angela Schanelec's new German-language relationship drama My Wife Cries, with the 20 November screening followed by an in-person Q&A with the director.
Angela Schanelec's My Wife Cries (Germany/France 2026, 93 min, German with English subtitles) follows Thomas, who arrives at a hospital after a phone call to find his wife Carla in tears following an accident. From this premise the film builds an elliptical relationship drama in which conversations, gestures and silences gradually expose how intimacy can give way to estrangement. The screening on Friday 20 November is followed by an in-person Q&A with Angela Schanelec. All screenings are 18+, ad-free and preceded by a 10-minute curated selection of trailers.
