Dundee History and Culture Walking Tour
About
A one-hour guided walking tour through Dundee city centre exploring the city's creative economies, from comics to video games.
This one-hour walking tour, part of the Being Human Festival, highlights places and people connected with Dundee's history and culture from the 18th century to the present. Starting at the Lemmings statue on Perth Road, the route takes in the former DMA Design offices, the Desperate Dan and Oor Wullie statues, the site of Strathmore Art Studio, and the John Leng and DC Thomson buildings, reflecting Dundee's identity as the 'Comicsopolis'. The tour ends at the Vipre Lab at Abertay University with a live motion-capture demo. It is delivered by Matthew Jarron and Professor Christopher Murray of the University of Dundee and Phillip Vaughan of Abertay University, and is step-free and wheelchair accessible.
