Día de los Muertos
About
An after-dark Day of the Dead celebration at the Pitt Rivers Museum with an Ofrenda altar, talks, food and drink sampling, music and crafts, for ages 18+.
The University of Oxford's Mexican Society hosts an evening celebration of Día de los Muertos at the Pitt Rivers Museum. Visitors can add photographs of deceased loved ones to an Ofrenda altar built during the night, make paper decorations in a workshop, and enjoy short talks, pan de muerto, hot chocolate and tequila, music and access to the museum's Latin American collections. Costumes inspired by La Catrina or El Catrin are encouraged. The altar remains on display until Sunday 1 November; the event is strictly 18+ with Challenge 25 for alcohol.
