Light Night Leeds: STRINGED
About
A free Light Night Leeds light installation by Gijs van Bon projecting animated words about urban wildlife around the future National Poetry Centre's Gothic architecture.
STRINGED is an outdoor light installation created for Light Night Leeds by Dutch artist Gijs van Bon. Waves of animated light dots form words that appear suspended in mid-air, weaving around the Gothic architecture of the future National Poetry Centre and flowing into sentences that vanish as soon as they appear. The text, developed with young poets from Leeds and beyond, evokes the fleeting glimpses and fragile ecosystems of urban wildlife in the area. The installation is viewable each evening from 6pm to 9.30pm on 28 and 29 October 2026.
