About

A free Light Night Leeds installation of illuminated fabric lanterns and sheer fabric evoking sunlight filtering through trees.

Komorebi is a light installation inspired by the Japanese term for sunlight shimmering through leaves. Fabric lanterns decorated with cyanotype silhouettes hang overhead, while folds of sheer fabric are lit with changing colours to suggest movement. Created by artists Melissa Nesbitt and Amy Jamieson as a student commission for the University of Leeds, the piece runs each evening from 6pm to 9.30pm as part of Light Night Leeds.
