Earth Matters Exhibition

A free exhibition at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh where over 30 artists explore Earth's ecosystems, marking 300 years since geologist James Hutton's birth.

Earth Marks marks 300 years since the birth of Edinburgh-born geologist James Hutton, whose ideas transformed understanding of the Earth and its ground. Inspired by Hutton and later trailblazers, more than 30 artists present work exploring the living ecosystem's brilliance, beauty and fragility. The exhibition is a creative partnership with Susanna Beaumont and Design Exhibition Scotland, and forms part of Edinburgh Science Festival, Edinburgh Art Festival, RSA200 and the James Hutton Tercentenary 2026.
