Neuroprocessing Challenges in Education
About
A full-day workshop in Perth exploring neurodiversity and how conditions like autism, ADHD and trauma shape learning in education.
This in-person workshop, organised by Trauma Healing Together, examines how neurodiversity affects the practice of education, looking at how conditions such as autism, ADHD and trauma influence neural processing and learning. Using accessible neuroscience and learner perspectives, it explores questions such as what happens when a learner cannot visualise or struggles to memorise, and how traditional approaches may unintentionally exclude neurodivergent experiences. Participants will learn about experiences including aphantasia, alexithymia, anendophasia and severely deficient autobiographical memory (SDAM), and develop practical strategies for inclusive, learner-centred practice. The session runs for seven hours.
