Supporting Learners with Extreme Anxiety and Demand Avoidance
About
A three-hour training session for education professionals on supporting learners with extreme anxiety and demand avoidance (PDA/EDA).
This workshop-style training session explores how to support learners who experience extreme anxiety and demand avoidance, often associated with ASD and PDA/EDA. It covers the nature of anxiety, the history and understanding of PDA/EDA, the three types of demand and forms of resistance, before moving on to identifying and applying effective support strategies. Participants share experiences, reflect on practice and discuss real-life examples. The trainer, Lisa, has over 20 years' experience in the field of autism and provides training and advisory services to education and care professionals.
