About
An in-person double bill at Cobalt Studios pairing The Handover's Egyptian-inspired psychedelic trio with Ludovic Gerst's experimental electric bass project frise lumière.
The Handover — Aly Eissa on oud, Ayman Asfour on violin and Jonas Cambien on vintage organ/synth — perform their trance-inducing blend of Nile Delta-inspired music, kraut-like riffs and '60s avant-garde jazz as one continuous improvised set. They are supported by frise lumière, the solo electric bass project of composer Ludovic Gerst, whose extended techniques turn the instrument into a self-contained sonic system. Doors open at 7pm, with music generally starting an hour later.
