About

A free-with-admission open day at the Cathedral Reading Room featuring interactive displays on Norman Canterbury and the Bayeux Tapestry.

The Cathedral Archives Reading Room opens for a one-day interactive experience linked to the Bayeux Tapestry. Visitors can see Christ Church University's work reconstructing Canterbury's Norman Castle, explore hands-on models of the cathedral's development, build Norman and Gothic arches, and try on costumes for selfies. Special displays include William Urry's maps of early Norman Canterbury; entry is via the Water Tower Corridor and dogs are not permitted.
