Weekend Wellness: Forest Bathing in the Blean
About
A guided, meditative forest bathing walk through Thornden Woods, inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin Yoku, for ages 18+.
Kent Wildlife Trust's Wellbeing Team leads a slow, meditative walk through Thornden Woods inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin Yoku (forest bathing). Participants are guided through a series of optional meditative invitations to connect with nature through the five senses, with the aim of reducing stress, boosting wellbeing and learning nature-connection techniques. The session lasts two and a half hours, is for ages 18+, and attendees are advised to wear walking boots, bring warm waterproof layers and pack light. Each event in the series varies with the seasons, with themes such as the Winter Solstice and the Healing Power of Trees.
