Hilary Peat: Surrey Artist of the Year 2025 – One Year On
About
A free exhibition at New Ashgate Gallery showcasing new ceramic work by Hilary Peat, Surrey Artist of the Year 2025, one year on from her award.
New Ashgate Gallery hosts a one-year-on exhibition celebrating Hilary Peat's achievement as Surrey Artist of the Year 2025, presenting a new collection of hand-built earthenware ceramics developed since her award. Her slab-built forms use layered colour techniques including paper and wax resist, sgraffito, underglaze and glaze, capturing shifting light and pattern in landscape. The show runs alongside a free drop-in Introducing Sgraffito family workshop on 27 October as part of the Craft Your Year 2026 programme.
