Touch and Trace: Clare Caulfield and Jess Skelton
About
A two-artist exhibition pairing Clare Caulfield's urban paintings and prints with Jess Skelton's tactile ceramics at New Ashgate Gallery.
Touch and Trace brings together painter and printmaker Clare Caulfield and ceramicist Jess Skelton to explore how artists record place through surface, structure and touch. Caulfield's layered, fine-lined works capture the architecture and movement of urban life, while Skelton's sculptural ceramics suggest stacked, architectural forms whose textured surfaces hold traces of handling. Presented together, the exhibition sets flat image against three-dimensional form, inviting close attention to repeated marks, edges and the evidence of making across painting, drawing, printmaking and ceramics.
