About
Artist Benny Watson uses postcards and materials from his grandmother Mel Dyke MBE’s home to make layered works about identity, loss, renewal and memory.
Created in the year after Mel Dyke MBE’s death, the exhibition combines collage, fabric, oil and spray paint. Watson’s works build texture from fragments of the past, bringing personal memory and history into view. The exhibition runs through 31 October 2026. The Sadler Room is occasionally used for events; contact the gallery before a special visit to check whether the exhibition is available.
