Exhibition - Studio Prints: Creative Collaboration

Explore the Balakjian Collection of prints, plates and drawings, gifted to the Cooper Gallery through Arts Council England’s Cultural Gifts Scheme. The exhibition shows how Studio Prints developed work with British print artists.

Dorothea Wight and Marc Balakjian founded the London printmaking studio Studio Prints in the late 1960s and worked closely with artists including Lucian Freud, Frank Auerbach, Stephen Conroy and Celia Paul. The display brings together plates, drawings, trial proofs and different versions of designs, showing techniques behind the finished prints. The exhibition ends 31 October 2026.
