Coiled Fabric Baskets

Wrap and stitch rope with scrap fabric to build a basket or bowl using traditional fabric-coiling techniques.

Eilidh Weir teaches fabric coiling with salvaged rope, scrap fabric and old clothing. Participants wrap and stitch the materials, exploring colour, shape and scale to make a bowl or basket. Tools and course materials are included; you may bring textiles or threads to incorporate. Tea and coffee are provided; bring your own lunch and utensils. No previous sewing or weaving experience is needed. The class is aimed at people over 16. Younger crafters may be accommodated with a participating adult; contact the school before booking.
