Rush Mat Weaving (Afternoon Workshop)

A traditional rush mat weaving workshop held in the beautiful setting of Abbey House.

Participants will be guided through the process of weaving a round rush table mat using locally harvested river rushes from the River Isle. Over the course of 3 hours, attendees will learn simple rush weaving techniques and create either two small rush mats or one large mat to take home. All tools and materials are provided, and the workshop is suitable for beginners.
