Conifers at Bedgebury Pinetum
About
A Kent Wildlife Trust field study day walking a circuit of Bedgebury Pinetum to identify Britain's common conifers, led by botanist Ros Bennett.
This field study day takes participants on a slow circuit of Bedgebury Pinetum, home to the largest collection of conifers in the UK. Led by botanist Ros Bennett, the session revisits the conifer genera covered in the linked study day on 21 November and examines a variety of species within most genera, with a brief picnic stop en route. By the end of the session attendees should be able to identify most commonly found conifers in Britain. The day finishes early at 2:30pm because the site closes for the Christmas at Bedgebury illuminated trail in the evening.
