About
Handshadow master Drew Colby performs Hans Christian Andersen's The Ugly Duckling through shadowgraphy set to music by Vivaldi and Max Richter.
Drew Colby retells Hans Christian Andersen's classic tale using only his hands, light and a few simple props, creating shadow images on a screen as the four seasons unfold around the duckling's journey. The performance is accompanied by music of Antonio Vivaldi and Max Richter and is aimed at young children and their families, with a visual language accessible to all. Craft activity kits with colour-in puppets and masks are available in the cafe from an hour before and after the show.
