Peking Opera in Shadow
About
A family-friendly shadow puppet performance of a Peking Opera story followed by a hands-on puppet-making workshop at the Scottish Mask & Puppet Centre.
The afternoon opens with a 30-minute shadow puppet performance bringing a story from Peking Opera to life through puppetry and Peking Opera singing, introducing children and families to its characters, drama and music. Afterwards, children and their accompanying adults take part in a hands-on puppet-making workshop, creating their own puppet as a keepsake. All children must be accompanied by a parent, carer or responsible adult throughout. The event is part of the Being Human Festival and is supported by the Peking Opera Society, University of Glasgow.
