Weave a Giant Willow Star (ECC 2806)

A three-hour willow weaving workshop at Foxburrow Nature Reserve where participants learn basic techniques to make a one-metre willow star.

Suffolk Wildlife Trust hosts a relaxed willow weaving session around the woodburner in the discovery room at Foxburrow Nature Reserve, led by the Coddiwomplers, Stuart and Emma, experienced basket makers and forest school practitioners. Participants learn basic willow weaving skills and techniques to create a giant one-metre-diameter willow star suitable for display indoors or outdoors. All tools and materials are provided, tea and coffee are included, and attendees are asked to bring a mug. The session lasts three hours, and a separate morning session weaving smaller decorations is available for those who want a full day of willow craft.
