Blair Witch Project, 1999 & The Birdwatcher, 2024

An evening of folk horror at Heligan pairing cult classic The Blair Witch Project with short Cornish film The Birdwatcher, reached via a lantern-lit garden trail.

As part of the Heligan Folk Horror Film Festival, this evening screening opens with doors from 6pm and films from 7pm. The programme pairs the 1999 cult horror classic The Blair Witch Project, directed by Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sánchez, with The Birdwatcher (2024), Ryan Mackfall's short film about investigators probing a disappearance near a birdwatching hut in the woods. Attendees walk a lantern-lit trail through the historic gardens to a pop-up screen, with drinks and snacks available to purchase before the screening. The festival runs eight nights of folk horror across the estate in partnership with Creative Kernow, Myskatonic and Sound/Image Cinema Lab.
