Family Bat Quest is an evening wildlife experience at The Lost Gardens of Heligan, led by a knowledgeable nature guide. As dusk falls, participants head into the gardens with a specialist bat detector to listen for bats' secret sounds and watch them emerge from roosts and swoop through the evening sky. The walk covers how bats navigate, communicate and hunt in darkness and their role in the natural world, and is aimed at curious children and adults alike. Guests should wear sturdy waterproof footwear, and children must be accompanied by an adult.
