Observing the Seasons – Autumn

A three-hour watercolour and mixed media sketching session at Sunny Bank Mills observing the autumn season, part of a quarterly series.

Participants return to the same space at Sunny Bank Mills throughout the year to observe the changing seasons through colourful, expressive sketches. This autumn session uses watercolour and mixed media to document the surroundings and connect with the environment; watercolour is provided and attendees may bring their own media such as graphite, coloured pencils, ink or pastels. Amy, who works predominantly in sketchbooks, leads the class and recommends bringing a favourite sketchbook, though sketchbooks are available to purchase and paper is provided. The series runs once every three months as a way to assess development and peer review.
