An Introduction to working with wild-wood
About
A one-day outdoor course at Applestore Cafe teaching the basic skills, tools and knowledge for finding, assessing and working with wild wood.
This hands-on day course with Paul Williams Woodcraft introduces the basics of transforming wild wood — found on beaches, in woodland or elsewhere — into eye-catching creations. Participants learn where to find wildwood, how to assess its potential, tool selection and safety, cleaning and preparation, dealing with decay, splits and cracks, shaping, cutting and finishing. The day is spent largely outdoors exploring the surrounding woodland and trying a range of simple tools and techniques, with participants typically taking home several pieces to continue working on. No previous experience is needed and minimum age is 18 (younger attendees by arrangement).
