Textile Art Celebrating Trailblazing Women
About
An exhibition of textile banners and tapestry hoops by the Trailblazing Stitching group celebrating trailblazing Greater Manchester women.
A small display of textile work by the Trailblazing Stitching group, shown in the Brontë Room at Elizabeth Gaskell's House. The pieces, made over several years for International Women's Day projects, include banners and tapestry hoops celebrating trailblazing women connected with Greater Manchester. The exhibiting group, Trailblazers! Women of Greater Manchester, are volunteer activists raising the profile of forgotten women from the region, including Elizabeth Gaskell. Some items may be temporarily removed for short periods to appear at special events in the city.
