Guildford and the Postcard Craze – T418

A free illustrated talk by Julian Morgan on Guildford's picture postcard boom, featuring the Institute's own postcard collection.

Julian Morgan explores the golden age of the picture postcard in the early 20th century, when around 900 million cards were posted in 1913 and Guildford traders eagerly joined the craze. The talk looks at the local personalities involved, illustrated with cards they produced, and highlights the Guildford Institute's own postcard collection, much of which was acquired brand-new when first produced. The 75-minute talk is free of charge to offer access to all, with booking advised.
