Ancient Tree Survey Training
About
Practical training in recording ancient, veteran and notable trees for the Woodland Trust inventory.
Participants will discuss why local tree records matter, work through survey forms and maps for Yeovil Country Park, then practise surveying a tree. Course leader Barbra Lakin brings her experience helping local groups identify and record older trees. The course is open to all and is especially useful to communities undertaking local monitoring; it is not tailored for families or children. Meet outside Ninesprings Cafe by Goldenstones car park. Bring a clipboard and pencil if available, plus warm or waterproof clothing and suitable footwear. Mobility is needed to reach some woodland trees.
