Winter Twig Identification Course (Devon)
About
A one-day beginner course in Exeter learning to identify broadleaved trees in winter using twigs, with indoor key work and an afternoon outdoor visit.
Teylu Ecology runs this one-day winter twig identification course aimed at beginners who want to learn broadleaved tree identification in winter. The morning is spent indoors at Countess Wear Village Hall using keys to identify native and widely naturalised species from twigs; after lunch the group visits a local site to see further species and consolidate the morning's learning. The tutor is Hannah Gibbons, an experienced botanical surveyor who has taught plant identification since 2011. Participants should bring waterproofs, boots, a hand lens, notebook and lunch.
