About

A hands-on family workshop for Black History Month exploring Yoruba Adire tie-dye traditions and making wearable creations.

Artist Tomi leads a family workshop celebrating the Yoruba textile tradition of Adire, indigo-dyed patterned cloth from Nigeria. Families use pieces of Adire fabric to create their own wearable items and accessories, such as bracelets, earrings, brooches, hair accessories, keyrings, bag charms or book covers. The session explores how fabric and pattern carry stories of culture, identity and heritage, with no previous craft experience needed.
