About
Irish artist Ae Mak performs her genre-defying pop live at The Hug and Pint as part of Celtic Connections 2027.
Irish artist Ae Mak (Aoife McCann) brings her album Folk Songs For Mama & Papa to The Hug and Pint as part of Celtic Connections. Her music has been described as "nursery rhymes for adults" — genre-defying, other-worldly pop with industrial beats, in a spiritual-folk direction she calls a "return to voice". She has previously supported acts such as Ye Vagabonds, TuneYards, Django Django and Warpaint and appeared at festivals including Reading & Leeds, Latitude and Electric Picnic.
