Music at the Museum 2026: Stroke of Genius Big Band
About
A free hour-long concert by the Stroke of Genius Big Band, playing Glenn Miller-style swing and Latin favourites at Bradford Industrial Museum.
The Stroke of Genius Big Band was founded by trumpet player Enrico Marchesi after a stroke in his forties left him unable to play; with medical support he regained his playing and formed the band with friends, students and fellow stroke survivors. Since 2013 the group has raised over £30,000 for the Stroke Association. Their set combines big band swing in the Glenn Miller style with vocalist-led numbers and upbeat Latin pieces such as salsa and cha-cha. This is part of the Music at the Museum 2026 season at Bradford Industrial Museum.
