Sewn Bindings Workshop: Pocket Notebooks With Lydia Shearsmith

This workshop teaches participants how to create A6 pocket notebooks using the fundamentals of sewn paperback bookbinding.

The session begins with an introduction to bookbinding tools and materials, covering topics such as paper weight and thread choice. Participants will first build a single-section pamphlet-style notebook, covering foundational skills like folding, piercing, sewing, and trimming. In the afternoon, the focus shifts to creating a multi-section book and exploring different methods of attaching a cover.
