ladr ache + Powtes

Brussels six-piece ladr ache bring polyphonic singing and punk energy to Cobalt Studios, with Newcastle folk collective Powtes supporting.

ladr ache, a six-piece collective from Brussels, blend traditional polyphonic singing with electronic music, hypnotic rhythms and raw punk energy, moving from pounding drums and buzzing drones to enchanting voices. They are joined by Powtes, a Newcastle six-piece drawing on the city's folk and improvised music scenes, performing gentle ballads built on twin fiddles, banjo, harp, whistle, melodeon, trombone and guitar. Doors open at 7pm, with music generally starting an hour later; the event runs for around three hours.
