Simple and Stunning: Weave Plaited Braids and Bands

A half-day craft workshop learning plaiting techniques from European and Native American traditions to make decorative woven bands.

Tutor Hilary Underwood leads this three-hour afternoon workshop on plaiting techniques drawn from European and Native American traditions. Participants make flat decorative bands that can be used as shoelaces, clothing trims, belts or luggage straps, then choose colours to finger-weave handles for a personal cloth shopping bag. Attendees should bring sharp scissors; other materials are provided.
