Find Your Passion – Kinusaiga
About
A hands-on workshop at Wakefield Museum teaching the Japanese art of Kinusaiga, creating decorative pictures from fabric scraps with no stitching.
This workshop introduces Kinusaiga, the Japanese craft of making pictures from fabric without sewing. Participants choose from an assortment of fabrics and press hand-picked pieces into a prepared design to build a textured, patchwork-style decorative picture. The session is aimed at all abilities, with no sewing skills or prior experience needed, and full guidance plus all materials are provided. It takes place in the Learning Zone inside Wakefield Library, on the upper ground floor of Wakefield One, with two sessions running on the same day.
