In Motion: The Human Figure in Art and Craft
About
A group exhibition at New Ashgate Gallery exploring how artists and makers depict the human figure in motion across painting, sculpture, ceramics, glass and jewellery.
The exhibition examines how contemporary artists and makers use the human figure to convey movement, emotion and connection, focusing on gesture, posture and rhythm rather than the figure as a simple subject. Works span painting, printmaking, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, glass and jewellery, with three-dimensional pieces extending the theme into physical space. Featured artists include Margaret Ashman, Chris Holley, Andrew Macara, Sally McKay, David Mayne, Helen Noakes, Eliza Southwood and Hannah White.
