Discovering Otters: Introduction to their Biology, Ecology and Field Signs
About
A half-day Mammal Society training course with Lee Jenkins covering otter ecology, field signs, conservation law and a hands-on fieldwork session.
The Mammal Society runs this entry-level training session at Llanfoist Village Hall and a nearby field site, led by Lee Jenkins, founder of the South Wales Otters Trust. The course covers otter ecology and behaviour, how to identify field signs of otter presence, and the legal protections and conservation measures for otters and their habitats. It concludes with a practical fieldwork session, and attendees can go on to join an otter monitoring and conservation programme run by the South Wales Otter Trust. A CPD certificate is available on request.
