Gallows Hill: History Talk
About
A free talk by the National Justice Museum on the history of Nottingham's Gallows Hill execution site, part of the Agatha Christie: World of Mystery programme.
The National Justice Museum presents a talk on Gallows Hill, Nottingham's main execution site for much of the 1700s and 1800s, located where the Church Cemetery entrance now stands on Mansfield Road. The talk explores how executions operated there, the criminals who died there from petty thieves to notorious murderers, and why the practice ended. Doors open at 10.45am with the talk running from 11am to 12pm. It forms part of the Agatha Christie: World of Mystery programme exploring Nottingham's darker history, delivered in partnership with Inspire Libraries as part of the British Library's Living Knowledge Network.
