Willow Weaving Round Kindling Basket

A hands-on willow weaving workshop where participants make a round kindling or wastepaper basket with stick or integrated handles.

Rowanricht hosts a full-day, beginner-friendly willow weaving workshop at Portessie Public Hall. Working with sustainably sourced willow, participants are guided step by step from weaving the base to shaping the sides with traditional randing, finishing with either stick or integrated raised handles. More experienced weavers can try techniques such as double randing, slewing or zig zag weaves. All materials, tools, tea and coffee are provided; attendees bring a packed lunch, and the finished basket is theirs to take home.
