Willow Asymmetric Basket Course
About
A sold-out one-day willow weaving course where tutor Amanda Rayner guides participants in making a decorative asymmetric basket with a rustic handle.
This day course at The Sustainability Centre in the Hampshire South Downs teaches participants to weave a decorative asymmetric willow basket finished with a rustic driftwood-style handle. Tutor Amanda Rayner demonstrates each stage: a round base using 2-rod pairing weave, upset waling, double and triple French rand, a simple track border, and attaching the handle with a Japanese knot. The course runs 10am to 4pm, is suitable for beginners or improvers with some manual dexterity, and takes place indoors. Teas and coffee are included; participants bring work clothes, an apron, sharp secateurs and a packed lunch.
