Exeter Audio Tour: Everyday Histories
About
A self-guided 1 hour 27 minute audio walking tour of Exeter, telling the stories of the ordinary workers who built the city.
This self-guided audio tour starts at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum and covers around 3.6 km across 14 landmarks, including the Northernhay Gardens Roman Wall, Rougemont Castle, Exeter Cathedral, the Underground Passages and Exeter Guildhall. Narration totalling up to 35 minutes plays automatically as walkers approach each stop, telling the stories of the wool-workers, masons, tunnel-diggers and beadles who built the city rather than the famous monuments themselves. The tour lasts 1 hour 27 minutes at your own pace, works offline via the AudaTours app, and once purchased the code never expires, so there is no fixed date or start time.
