A Sense of Colour
About
A free display of artworks co-created by young people from the Deaf Academy and 100 Club Youth Centre with two artists, inspired by colour-themed objects in RAMM's collections.
This exhibition at the Cafe at RAMM presents work made by young people from the Deaf Academy and the 100 Club Youth Centre, developed through creative workshops with Deaf artist Vicky Barber-Crimes and artist Octavia Madden. The Deaf Academy students' contribution features ten large-scale paintings with butterfly collages and 200 hand shapes marking the academy's 200th anniversary, reflecting the significance of hands in Deaf culture. The 100 Club group's work arranges painting and printmaking responses to museum objects across five large panels in a colour spectrum.
