2-Day Beginners Pattern Cutting Workshop

A two-day beginner workshop at FC Designer Workspace learning to draft skirt and bodice blocks and turn them into working patterns.

This hands-on two-day workshop introduces beginners to pattern drafting, covering what patterns and blocks are, essential tools, and accurate body measuring. Participants draft a size 12 bodice with sleeves and a standard skirt block, then create made-to-measure blocks from their own measurements. The course also covers transforming blocks into working patterns with seam allowances, notches and annotations, with an optional toile if time permits. No prior experience is required; attendees bring basic stationery, pins, a tape measure and around two metres of woven fabric.
